Eau Claire County Republicans held their annual chicken barbecue at the Lake Altoona Clubhouse in Altoona on September 27, 2008. The event was the party’s official public kickoff of its efforts to help Republicans in the November 2008 elections. The event was attended by local State Assembly candidates. Rep. Terry Moulton, the incumbent republican candidate for the 68th Assembly District, and Darcy Fields, the republican candidate in the 93rd Assembly District, gave short speeches at the event. The 68th and 93rd Assembly District races are considered some of the most important in the state. They could help decided which party will have a majority in the Assembly during the next legislative session.
